The manufacturing process for sunglasses typically begins with design and prototyping. Designers determine the frame shape, proportions, and lens type based on fashion trends and functional requirements, creating design sketches or 3D models. They then produce prototypes to refine fit, comfort, and aesthetic details, ensuring structural integrity.

Frames are manufactured using various techniques. Acetate frames are generally shaped through cutting, milling, sanding, and polishing, while metal frames undergo processes such as stamping, welding, and electroplating to ensure strength and a high-quality surface finish. Meanwhile, components such as temples, hinges, and nose pads are manufactured separately and undergo preliminary assembly. Lenses are cut to fit the frame dimensions and treated with tints or coatings before being installed and adjusted to ensure symmetry and smooth opening and closing. Finally, the finished products undergo UV protection testing, structural durability tests, and visual inspections; only those that meet quality standards are packaged and shipped.
